Walgreens Matchups: 1/3/10

by Alicia on January 3, 2010

Walgreens accepts one (1) Walgreens coupon and one (1) Manufacturer’s coupon per item, for a total of two (2) coupons per item.  Walgreens coupons are commonly found in the weekly ad and in coupon booklets.  These booklets are located at the front of the store near the ads.  Sometimes you can even find Walgreens coupons on their website or attached to products.  Walgreens does accept printable coupons.
Some items will generate a Register Reward (RR), which is a $ off coupon valid on your next purchase.  It is up to the cashier whether or not you will be able to combine Register Rewards on a purchase.  The register will sometime accept multiples, and other times will not.
When purchasing an item with a Register Reward, you are still able to use a Walgreens coupon and a Manufacturers coupon on each item.  You will have to have an additional item, commonly referred to as a filler, in order to apply the Register Reward to.  Small candies, pencils, and chapstick all work wonderfully as a filler item.
Keep in mind that if you purchase an identical item with a RR, the RR will not print again.  However, you can purchase a different item that generates a RR with it.  This is commonly referred to as ‘rolling’.  If product A generates a $1 RR, use that to purchase product B, which also generates a $1 RR.  You can then purchase product A with the RR from product B and repeat as many times as you desire.
