I’ve taken a lot of the emphasis off of losing weight and placed it on aquiring the endurance necessary to run the Turkey Trot. To tell you the truth, I’m not sure how people run more than 200 feet at a time. Hopefully I’ll find out soon.
I went to the track this weekend, and since my watch is broken, I counted steps. Counting kept my mind off of the fact that I was running and pushed me further and further. The sad part is that when I started my walk/run, I could only run about 50 paces at once. I figured that was the equivalent of the 60 seconds I was supposed to be doing. By the end of my two miles, I was running 1/2 (possibly 3/4) of a lap. It felt great, although I’m sure that anyone that could see me was laughing inside. What really stinks is that I have to run 1/2 of a lap 24 consecutive times to finish the Turkey Trot with my goal of ‘not walking’.
I am hoping to purchase EA Active (for the Wii) with my Amazon giftcards that I earned through Swagbucks to help this along. If you haven’t signed up with Swagbucks, read more about it here. While I’m not a fan of spending $50 on a video game, I have reasoned that it is about the cost of one month’s gym membership along with the gas to get there one time.
Although I haven’t weighed, I feel so much lighter! My clothes are starting to fit a little loosely and my stomach is feeling a little flatter.
How are you guys doing?
