Normally, I’m not one to search for airfare deals, but when my friend Kelly told me that she was headed to Florida, for $29 each way, I decided to check it out. We travel quite a bit, but haven’t flown since the kids were born. It’s much easier (and cheaper) to load up the car and go. Kelly had told me that she booked directly through the airline, so I headed on over to www.allegiantair.com to see what was available. I was blown away! From our location, we could book a trip to Phoenix, AZ; Clearwater/St. Petersburg, FL; Daytona Beach, FL; or Las Vegas for $29 each way. DH and I are headed to Clearwater Beach, FL for a romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day. Our airfare was $158.88 total for both tickets, round trip. I had a couple of free hotel stays saved up, and I found a great coupon that will make our total cost for 3 days at a beachside resort $69.95! I have checked other cities, and several are offering the same deals. Some are even cheaper! There are certain cities that are flying into these locations for $19 each way. You can also book at the ticket desk to save booking fees. By booking at the ticket desk, we saved an additional $60 worth of fees. Here’s to that much needed ‘Winter Getaway’.
