Just in time for the holidays, UPS has unveiled a new program called UPS My Choice. This program offers a free or paid ($40 per year) membership plan that allows you full control of your shipments. With all of the stuff I order, I am so glad to see this! I’ve often wished for the flexibility that this allows.
With the free membership, you will receive:
- Delivery Alerts
- Approximate Delivery Time
- Authorize Shipment Release (eliminate required signature)
- Hold for Will Call at a UPS Ops Facility
An additional small fee will be charged for:
- Delivery to UPS Retail Location
- Reschedule Delivery
- Deliver to Another Address
With the paid membership, you will receive the above, along with:
- Delivery Planner
- “Leave at” Instructions
- Leave with Neighbor
- Confirmed Delivery
Whether you have any current needs for the service or not, it’s probably not a bad idea to sign up so that you can have control of a package as it ships! Too often I’ve missed a package for days because no one was home to sign for it- causing my driver to make an extra trip out and my package to be delayed.
