I’m going to let you in on one of my FAVORITE deals. Every year, my hubby and I take a trip to a warmer place.. a place with a beach for Valentine’s Day. We are not wealthy, especially since we’ve been a 1.2 income family for a couple of years. (I’ll generously count my blogging as .2) While many of our friends and neighbors consider the 50 mile trek to Branson a weekend getaway, I just cannot bring myself to go.
I have found that in January and February, Allegiant Air starts SLASHING prices on flights. They fly out of tons of cities to destinations in Florida, Arizona, California, and Las Vegas. Fares get as low as $10 each way!!! I check their website out weekly. It’s so user friendly and you can view the fares for each day, unlike some sites that force you to put in your desired dates and it gives you a fare.
As I was checking out Florida fares this morning, I noticed fares to LA were the same price. Each time I refreshed the page, they got lower. So, I impulsively booked a trip to Los Angeles in two weeks. We will be picked up by my best friend from my childhood and make our way down to San Diego. I am super excited, as this will be her birthday weekend!
If you have any inclination of making a weekend trip, check out Allegiant Air! If you’re close to the airport, you’ll save $14 per ticket to pick them up at the desk.
Our entire trip will cost less than 2 nights in a hotel in freezing cold Branson. It’s not a trip unless it involved a climate change!
